W.J. Pettipas, CD, Col (Ret’d)

Born in Stellerton, Nova Scotia, Colonel Pettipas joined the Canadian Forces in 1953. He is a former Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion The Royal Canadian Regiment (June 1975 — July 1977) and a former Commander London Militia District (now 31 CBG).

He retired from the Canadian Forces in 1990, moving on to become Vice-President of General Motors and Executive Director of GM Defence in London, Ontario. He continues to work as a consultant on Defence Industry Matters.

Colonel Pettipas was appointed Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel of 4th Battalion The Royal Canadian Regiment on 27 November 2010. In addition, he provided long and valued service to the Regiment as Chairman of The Royal Canadian Regiment Trust, a position only relinquished in November 2010.
