John Mombourquette has been Chair of The RCR Museum Board of Directors since 2016.  John has had a 34 year career in education, first as a secondary school History teacher, then vice-principal, principal and Superintendent of Education with the London District Catholic School Board.  Presently he is an Associate Dean at Fanshawe College.  John has been actively involved over the years in community heritage organizations, including representing the heritage sector on the Museum London BOD (1995-2002).

John’s father, Joe, retired as a Master Warrant Officer in 1976, from a career that began with service in 1942 with the Second Battalion, West Nova Scotia Regiment (as a runaway 15 year old!) and then on to the RCAF after the war.  John was active in the Air Cadets as a teenager (earning his glider pilot wings) and then enlisted in the Regular Navy for two years after high school.  He joined 4RCR in 1979 as a RESO candidate and served until 1994 when he retired as a Captain.

John shares a home in North London with his partner Anna-Marie Duffy and their three children aged 18 and 21 years.
